Zoe + Hose = Fun!

Oh man, I just love these photos of Zoe playing with the hose in the back yard! I know I’m biased, but I don’t care! It’s days like this that I am most thankful to be a photographer! Zoe loves playing with the hose, especially on the “Mist” setting. So, we were messing around in the back yard when the sun just got low enough to start back lighting the spray from the hose. I grabbed my camera and this is what happened…

Zoe likes to fill her rain boots up with water and then jump up as high as she can and see the water slosh out!
This is probably my favorite photograph I have taken of Zoe to date!

Holden

I headed over to our friends Jessica and Michael’s house for a fun little informal photo session today. I have been photographing Holden’s older brother, Sawyer, for a few years now. This was my first time photographing the new little guy though. He was a pleasure to photograph, spit up, drool and all! It’s now official, Jessica and Michael’s family are hands down one of the easiest and funnest I ever get to work with! Thanks guys!

Nicole + Joe

I’ve been SO excited to post photos from Nicole and Joe’s awesome wedding! Let me first start at the beginning. Today was a little like that movie Groundhog’s Day. If you don’t know that movie, essentially the plot is about a guy reliving the same day over and over. So, how was today like that? Well, the day before Nicole and Joe’s wedding, I photographed Katie and Tim’s wedding. For both weddings, the bride’s both got ready at the same hotel, The Affinia Manhattan. What are the odds? Well, not only that, but guess where both receptions took place…yep, Studio 450 in NYC! Anyway, Nicole and Joe were an AMAZING couple to work with let me tell you! They gave me lots of time with them, and at a great location, the Meat Packing District. Add an awesome couple, some good light and my camera, and you have a recipe for a slam dunk! As an added bonus, Nicole’s room had a balcony up on the 13th floor right across from Madison Square Garden. This allowed me to get some great city shots of Nicole and Joe from a high vantage point! YAY! So, needles to say, I had a hard time narrowing down photos to blog, so I just went crazy and am posting a record breaking 61 shots from their wedding! Thank you SO much you two, and a big congratulations to you both!

Katie + Tim

Katie and Tim’s wedding was SUCH a pleasure to photograph, it barely felt like work at all! Katie was up for anything and so laid back about the day. Katie and Tim got married at a beautiful old church in Manhattan. The only draw back to some of these old beautiful churches though is that they don’t always have air conditioning. On a hot day like today it can become very uncomfortable, but both Katie and Tim were champs about it! As for me though, I was hot a mess! After the ceremony I made a personal decision to start wearing black t-shirts to weddings instead of button down long sleeve dress shirts. I’ll keep you posted as to how much cooler it is! Anyway, after some photos around Katie and Tim’s stomping grounds around the church we headed over to one of my favorite venues, Studio 450 in Manhattan! Katie and Tim had plenty of friends and family to help them celebrate and dance the night away! Congratulations you guys!

I aint afraid of no stairwell!
Katie’s prep room was a little cramped, so I embraced the stairwell, and did my detail shots there.
I lost track of how many high fives Katie gave out today, but you’ll see at least a couple more in this blog post!
I love this shot of Tim’s dad grabbing a quiet moment before the ceremony.
I actually enjoy a full mass at weddings, because it gives me a chance to grab moments like these.
More high fives for the locals!
BAM! And another one!
I like this shot because that woman’s focus assist beam on her camera sort of mimics the setting sun out the window.
Which then led to this shot.
Gravity…pish posh!
Katie and Tim decided to have their last dance of the night upstairs by themselves…well, except for my wonderful assistant Ali, ducking down behind them and the drunk guy passed out on the couch, and me being a peeping tom through the window, they were totally alone!
