Gemma + Patrick

First off, I have to apologize to all my blog readers for the blog not working for the last week! Let’s just say that my web hosting company had some issues! The thought of losing years worth of blog posts was certainly a nerve racking experience, but I’m happy to be back at it again, unscathed!

So, to make up for the blog “outage” I am going to come back strong with a 48 photo blog post from Gemma and Patrick’s New Year’s Eve wedding! When I called Gemma in the morning to tell her I was running late because of the snow and accidents along the way, a gravelly voice answered, which actually turned out to be Patrick. I guess I had their names and numbers transposed. Anyway, his voice had become hoarse from the rehearsal dinner the night before. After hanging up with Patrick I called Gemma and once again was greeted with a gravelly voice, but this time it was Gemma’s. I guess they had one hell of a party the night before! This was my first time shooting a wedding on New Years Eve, and it was an absolute blast! Gemma and Patrick threw an AMAZING party! Despite both of their voices being gravelly, they totally rocked it the whole day, sipping hot tea whenever they could. Gemma and Patrick were so darn easy to work with, the whole day felt effortless! Their ceremony took place in Manhatten, and the reception was held at the Venetian in Garfield NJ. Thank you so much for having me along for the ride guys, enjoy the rest of your honeymoon!

This is how my day started out! This was VERY bad timing for a quick snow storm to roll in! It took me 3 hours to get to Gemma’s prep location in NYC, which should have only taken about an hour!

Finallly made it into the city!

Mica - Todd,

Just wanted to tell you that I stumbled upon your work on photo.net, and your work is amazing! I have always had an interest in photography, have been since my dad let me dink around with his 1970’s-era Canon A-1, but never really took on my gut feeling that photography is a true passion of mine. I have almost 20 years in the Air Force, have a MBA, and have recently come to the realization that I want to do something completely different after I retire in a few years. Your work has helped inspire me to seriously consider a second career in photography. Thanks for sharing your work in your blog and for the inspiration to do what I REALLY want to do!

Todd - Mica…ummm WOW!!!! Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate the positive feedback! Yeah, sometimes that pesky brain thinks too much, and trusting your gut can be difficult, but it can sometimes very rewarding when you listen to it, and just TRUST! I’m SOOOO thrilled that my work has been an inspiration to you and I wish you the best in whatever you do, but remember to enjoy the journey! :)

rachel darley - Holy crap. Aaaah-mazing…. What a FUN way to bring in the new year!!!

Alice - Love the photos, but even more I love the sequence that you put them in… perfect and so fun!

Todd - Hi Alice. Thanks for noticing the sequencing, I actually spend a bit of time trying to figure out the best way to sequence the blog photos, so it’s nice to hear that you noticed that. :)
