Shannon + John

When I spoke with Shannon a few days before the wedding, she had mentioned that it looked like rain for Saturday. I told her not to bother checking weather forecasts because they can never seem to get them right. I tell all my brides this, knowing full well that they will check them anyway (some obsessively)! Well, I must admit, when I got up this morning and drove out to Osborn Castle in New York, I felt bad telling Shannon not to worry about the weather. It was raining the whole way up and when I got near the castle, the fog really started rolling in as well. Things didn’t look good, but as the day progressed, the rain held off to some minor drizzles and the fog began to lift a little. Ok, so the weather was under control, but what about the transportation? Shannon told me that her and John hired this really cool 1950’s car (Sorry, I’m not a car guy, so I can’t spout off the exact year, number of cylinders and the like.) Anyway, I left the castle for the church a few minutes before Shannon, and on my way to the church I see this black vintage looking car on the roadside being helped out. hmmm, you don’t think? Yep, that was Shannon’s ride to the church. It was just out of gas, but did hold up the start time of the ceremony. No worries, it allowed me to grab some great candids of some of the kids at the church, which I wouldn’t have had time for had everything gone according to plan. After the ceremony we headed back over to the GORGEOUS Osborn Castle in Garrison NY. THEN, as I am doing photos with Shannon and John, the DJ comes over and says he has a major problem! Uh Oh! Long story short, that DJ was “fired” and a new DJ was found on the spot to replace the original one. Shannon and John took it all in stride, and again, it worked out to be an advantage. Although it took time to find a new DJ and have him set up, it allowed me to have extra time with Shannon and John for photos! BONUS! I usually love it when a plan comes together, but today it seems I also love it when a plan doesn’t come together too! In the end Shannon and John had an AWESOME wedding and it was an absolute blast to photograph! Congratulations you two, enjoy Maui!

You can see some of that misty/drizzle behind them in this shot. Love it!

While waiting for Shannon to arrive at the church, I grabbed the next two shots.

More about the socks later!

I grabbed this one while following Shannon and John on the drive up to Osborn Castle.

Iloved the socks the groomsmen were wearing. I think it’s the red and white socks that were donned by John’s highschool friends, and the blue and yellow by his college friends. (school colors) Note that John is wearing one red and white sock and one blue and yellow sock!

I got this shot as the bridal party was waiting around to be introduced into the reception.

Shannon and her dad.

The illusive 4 way high five attempt.

LOVE!
