Caroline + Georgia

I love days like today! I met Caroline and Georgia today at their house, along with their parents Brian and Nancy. We started in their back yard where little Georgia enjoyed playing with balls, and Caroline kept busy whipping up some “salads” for the racoons! We then headed over to the Reeves Reed Arboretum in Summit where Mom and Dad got in on the act. I felt like they were making their own pictures, I was merely there to record them. I just love when the parents get involved in the photo shoot! It was a real pleasure meeting you guys today, thank you!

While dad and Georgia (in the background) went for a stroll, Caroline was busy blowing some awesome bubbles!

Later, Georgia became entranced while playing jump rope with mom.

Postscript: I just got an email from Nancy after she and Brian saw the photos on the blog. I wanted to share it with all of you so you can see why I have the coolest job!

“Hi Todd,
We had such a great time and these are just wonderful! We look forward to seeing the rest of them. Brian already emailed me this morning to say (and I quote) “I have looked at this about 10 times already this morning … I am in love with our family”. This is an unusually upbeat message for a Monday morning!
Cheers,
Nancy”

Zoe’s National Debut

It gives me GREAT pleasure to announce that a photo I took of my daughter Zoe when she was a few months old has been published in a national magazine, Popular Photography, the October 2007 issue. It was featured in an article about specialty lenses. This was taken in her room. The sky was painted by our very talented friend Jennifer Pollak, a faux painter. And yes, that’s my chin and nose at the top of the photo!

Casey + Rob

I met Rob one night at a skate park several months ago. I was photographing him for a little while when he asked if I shot weddings too? I said yes, and we got to chatting some more. He also introduced me to Casey who was also there that night. When I showed up to our official meeting at their apartment wearing my black and white checkered slip on Vans, I think we both knew it was a good fit (not the Vans silly, although they did fit nicely). This was such a cool wedding to be a part of. I even met an old skate buddy I knew back in the 80’s. Do the math! On second thought, don’t do the math, math hurts. Anyway, just as I had hoped, the dance floor was chock filled with more characters than I could shake a stick at! I don’t usually start with dance floor shots first, but sometimes you just have to eat dessert before dinner! Casey and Rob, thank you so much for including me in your party, congratulations!

Just look at the intensity in their faces. You can’t fake that my friends!

Close your eyes and in your head I want you to think of the song “You Shook Me All Night Long” by ACDC. Now open your eyes again.

What an awesome shot my second shooter, Bob LoRusso, got of the rings on Rob’s board.

For someone who claims to be uncomfortable in front of the camera, I’d say Casey looks pretty damn good wouldn’t you!

Lisa + Neil

What a great wedding to be a part of. You guys were so easy going…even when the limo broke down and we all had to cram into a cab from NYC to Jersey City. All of which can be seen HERE at the Rockmelon (the videographer’s) blog. (Right click to open in a new window)
And the reception at the Liberty House in Jersey City was exceptional…as always! Congratulations Neil and Lisa!

A Mona Lisa smile? I think not, there’s nothing ambiguous about this one!
