Zoe + Hose = Fun!

Oh man, I just love these photos of Zoe playing with the hose in the back yard! I know I’m biased, but I don’t care! It’s days like this that I am most thankful to be a photographer! Zoe loves playing with the hose, especially on the “Mist” setting. So, we were messing around in the back yard when the sun just got low enough to start back lighting the spray from the hose. I grabbed my camera and this is what happened…

Zoe likes to fill her rain boots up with water and then jump up as high as she can and see the water slosh out!
This is probably my favorite photograph I have taken of Zoe to date!

Emerson is learning to crawl…

…well sort of! Sometimes it looks like he’s going to start crawling and then he just starts rocking back and forth on his hands and knees. Then, sometimes he looks like he’s just doing push ups! (see photo on the left) He’s almost 7 months now, and I think he’s actually getting close to getting the hang of it. Two things are for certain though, he has oodles of determination, and when he finally learns to crawl, life as we know it will change DRASTICALLY! This guy will be into everything! I grabbed these shots this morning as he was getting in some tummy time before breakfast.

Postscript: Emerson started “big boy” crawling the day after I posted this! Watch out!

Chillin’ with the kids

After Emerson and I picked Zoe up from school yesterday afternoon we decided to just chill out in the back yard. Emerson likes tummy time on his blanket, and Zoe really enjoys her tree swing. It was such a nice and slow afternoon, just watching my kids grow up before my very eyes. I just love these two knuckleheads!

That’s my boy! He has a soft spot for the 15mm fisheye lens just like his old man!

Emerson

I guess it’s true what they say, after your first child (Zoe) the next one doesn’t get photographed as much. Sorry Emerson! I remember doing some fun wide angle shots of Zoe when she was about 6 months old in her excersaucer, so decided to do that again, but with Emerson. He’s a grabby kind of guy, so I think he really enjoyed reaching for the camera which was all up in his face! I know I need to get over my photo guy “I don’t take snapshots” attitude and take more photos of the kids more frequently, but until then, enjoy these!

bye everyone!

Let’s Play

My wife Susan had this great idea the other day! Why not make up some “play date” cards for the kids to hand out to new friends? I thought it was brilliant and was excited to design something for each of my kids. So, I went over to iStock.com and purchased some clip art. I had to make a few modifications here and there to the artwork, and then I was ready to design their “calling cards”. These will be printed with slightly rounded corners and I’m thinking of having them UV coated as well. So, the image on the left side is the front, and the image on thr right side is the back. I thought they came out cute so decided to share them.

Zoe | Life Lessons

I found this great old triptych I took of Zoe a few years ago. I remember watching her from a distance playing with that bubble stick thingy that comes with the bubble bottle. I sort of knew that she was at that age where she was probably ready to discover that just because the packaging looks yummy on the outside, doesn’t mean that what’s inside is in fact a tasty treat. And who am I to interfere with a valuable life lesson? So, I just sat back and watched/photographed as she dipped the stick in the bubbles, put it  in her mouth, and then gave the universal “yucky” face! After digging these shots up, I just can’t believe Zoe turned five last weekend! Needless to say, she never tried to eat the bubble stick again…but Play-Doh, well, that’s a different story!

Snow Day!

We got a LOT of snow the other day and Zoe and I have been having a blast playing in it! So, I thought I would post a few snaps of us enjoying the white stuff!

My wife Susan asked me to grab a shot of the house in the snow, so I did! Oh, and future potential clients coming over for a meeting, this is the house to look for, sans snow probably!

Zoe just LOVED being out in the snow!

Meet Mr. Ginormous! We spent a good part of the day making this guy and as it was getting dark, and we were both soaked to the bone and cold, I grabbed a quick shot of Zoe standing next to Mr. Ginormous looking exhausted. Sadly, I woke up the next morning to find that some vandals had pushed his torso and head over. We’ll miss ya big guy!:(
