Samantha + Matt

I met up with Samantha and Matt in Central Park for their engagement session. We had a beautiful day with lots of sun and plenty of places to shoot! It was great getting to know Samantha and Matt better too! At one point I had them set up for a shot when I see this little dog wander into the frame. Samantha was so entranced looking into Matt’s eyes that she didn’t notice. I watched as it got closer and closer to Sam’s foot, until it eventually rubbed up against her ankle. Sam FREAKED!!!! It was SO hilarious. She thought it was a rat! Now, I’ve seen some rats in NYC that look like they are binge eaters on steroids, but this little dog was even too big to be a rat even by New York City standards. Anyway, we all had a good laugh about it. I had a great time spending the day with you guys in the park, and I can’t wait to shoot your wedding in October!

Erin + Rick

Ok, this had to be, hands down, THE hottest wedding I have ever photographed! In fact, I think I overheard one of the groomsmen dub Erin and Rick’s day as “the swedding”! Everyone took it in stride though, and I know the 2010 wedding season isn’t over yet, but I’m almost certain Erin and Rick will get “Troopers” of the year award. They gave me plenty of time with them regardless of the heat and we totally rocked it out! They had a short but sweet, and totally beautiful outdoor ceremony in the courtyard of the Betsy Ross House in Philadelphia. And the reception was right next door in the uber cool venue, Trust, which is an old school bank which now is a wedding venue. The night was spent with family and friends sharing some wonderful food and plenty of dancing as well! Congratulations you two!

I love this shot of Erin’s sister getting emotional during the end of the ceremony.
I had to work in another ring shot using the table made of lemons!

Nina + Ken

Nina and Kens wedding day was one of those SCORCHING HOT + HUMID days we seem to be having a lot of this summer in New Jersey. Ouch! I didn’t hear any complaints from anyone though, and for those following the blog, the new short sleeve black T’s are turning out to be a big win on these hot days! Nina and Ken both got ready at the Borgata in Atlantic City. They had this great frosted glass wall in the lobby that was awesome for photography! And although it was tucked away and didn’t interfere with the casino, management isn’t too keen on photography in its casino! We did what we could in a limited amount of time, and it turned out great regardless! Nina and Ken had a fantastic wedding day, and judging by all the smiles on their faces throughout the day, I think it’s safe to say that they had a blast as well! Congratulations you two!

I love that little sun flare “orb” surrounding their hands during the ceremony.

Martha’s Vineyard 2010 | Teasers

I just got back from a wonderful vacation from Martha’s Vineyard with my family. We had an amazing time together and I can’t wait to blog it. However, I am behind on blogging weddings so this will have to be put on the back burner for now. So, I will only post a few for now, but will certainly revisit this down the road!

I couldn’t believe how vivid the stars were out where we were staying. This was taken about 50 yards from the “Writer’s Cottage” we rented, which was right on Deep Bottom Pond. Those splashes were from me throwing rocks into the water during a long exposure and lighting them with my head lamp.

Inspect me for ticks! | Behind the Scenes

This behind the scenes look at me in action comes from Ann and Dean’s wedding. My friend David Lim grabbed this shot of me photographing Ann and Dean. Surprisingly, I didn’t find any ticks on me!

And this is what I was framing up.
