I met up with Lorien and Bobby at the New Jersey Botanical Gardens in Ringwood for their engagement session. It was sort of a dark, chilly, and drizzly kind of day. That stuff doesn’t really bother me, but I felt bad for Lorien and Bobby though. Let’s just say that if I got a nickel for every goose bump I had to Photoshop out, I would be a very rich man (monetarily at least). Thanks for sticking it out you two, you guys are awesome with a capital awe!

I’m not a big fan of entering photo competitions, for reasons I won’t go into here, with the exception of one organization; Fearless Photographers! It is made up of, run by, and judged by like minded wedding photographers who are not satisfied with making the same old boring wedding photos! Here are a few words by founder, and fellow fearless photographer Huy Nguyen to give you a sense of what it’s all about:

FEARLESS PHOTOGRAPHERS is a unique directory of the world’s boldest photographers who are not afraid to push the limits of wedding photography to surprise you with extraordinary images from your wedding day. Fearless Awards are given to photographs that excel in redefining wedding photography or are just darn amazing! Less than one out of ten images – 10% – are selected by our curators. Our photographers submit many, many great images but we only want to show the very best work from this keenly talented group of photographers.

For more information on Fearless Photographers, please visit their home page here. And without further ado, here are the 24 Fearless Awards I have been so honored to have won thus far. They are in no particular order! Enjoy!undefinedundefined

I was recently invited to Spain to give a 2 day workshop with some wonderful photographers. It was an amazing trip and an honor to be asked to come share my knowledge of photography with them. I will post more about my travels/workshop in another blog post. For now, I would like to share with you a wedding in which I was able to tag along with my host and new friend, Jorge Miguel Jaime Baez. It was such a cool experience¬† to just observe Jorge in action and being that I don’t know Spanish, it made me be a little more observant about non verbal communication between people. I had a wonderful time, thank you Jorge for the opportunity. Here are some images from the day. Note: we only covered the getting ready and ceremony.

I had so much fun walking around NYU with Sarah and David for their e-session. They were SO patient while I did my “including a random pedestrian” shots, which sometimes take a while to get. Their wedding is just a few short weeks away, and now I am even more excited! See you again soon guys! Thank you!

I met Joanne and Nick in NYC for their engagement session. Unfortunately, the rain sort of put a mild damper on our photo shoot. But as always, I just make it work! Joanne brought her cute little dog Sandy too. I had so much photographing her, I almost forgot to shoot Joanne and Nick! Big thanks to Joanne’s dad for being Sandy’s ‘handler’ for the day too! I had a blast with you guys, and can’t wait for your wedding.
