Beyond the mere excitement of being able to work with Todd I was just as […]

I just got back from shooting Kate + Ryan’s CUH-RAZY awesome wedding down in Antigua Guatemala! I barely even know where to begin. It was an intense 4 days of shooting which included a rehearsal dinner, the wedding which took place in some historic ruins, an after party, a 1 hour after wedding day shoot, not one but TWO mini engagement sessions of couples who were also guests at the wedding, a volcano hike, and some street photography in my down time. Such an amazing experience, and I met SO many great people along the way too! I shot this wedding with my buddy David Mielcarek, and between us we must have shot over 15,000 images. I can’t wait to fully blog my 4 day jaunt to Guatemala, but for now you’ll just have to enjoy a couple of teasers!

Wedding guests hiking the volcano.

Ok, so I’m finally back to somewhat normal health and have finally manged to blog Maggie and Mike’s wedding which I couldn’t wait to post! Maggie is a wedding photographer herself which means she knows how these things go down! Which meant she basically told me, do what you want, take as much time as you want we’re with ya. Check and mark! And while it’s an honor to be asked to photograph another wedding photographer’s wedding, it also increases the pressure to perform as well. Maggie assured me that there wouldn’t be a million “second” photographers running around all day either, as she has a quite a few other photog friends. I must say, they were all pretty low key with their cameras, thanks guys! Maggie and Mike had a phenomenal wedding down in Cape May NJ at Congress Hall. The weather was perfect, Maggie was radiant and Mike totally played it cool even though I could tell towards the end of our second photo session that he was done. Thanks for hanging in there with us Mike, you were awesome! Everything went off without a hitch, with the exception Maggie and Mike who actually did go off with a hitch! Yuck yuck! Oh and Mike, thanks again for not actually kissing me at the after party! See, Mike had asked me what I would like to drink and I replied “a pint of Guinness” which Mike heard as “Should we kiss?”. After an awkward few seconds, we worked it out!

  • jeff tisman - AWESOME!!!!!! So great to see a friend being a “Laffler Bride”!!!! Great job Todd! And Maggs & Mike for being a great couple!!!

  • Debra Schoenberger - awesome! looked like so much fun!

  • Constance Fedoro - WOW. Every single photo is ridiculously awesome. I’d want all of them on my wall if I were them. Such unique compositions and stunning light. You nailed it.

  • Maggie McGill - A+++++++++++++ WE LOVE YOU TODD :o)

  • Brian Holden - Inspiring as per usual Todd. Awesome indeed.

  • Gabi - what a magnificent couple! And there are just NO words for the bride! xoxoxo

  • Brian Kraft - LOVE ’em!!! Thanks for the inspiration! Glad you’re feeling better.

  • Bonnie Sheppard - How nice to relive such a fabulous day! Wonderful photos – wonderful couple.

  • Catalin Alexa - Pfuuu … Damn, you’r good!

  • Patrica Doles - Beautiful images, met the gang, Maggie, Kris, Jeff and Suzanne at Mystic. Maggie spoke the world of you, you images prove it….

Just a quick post to let everyone know that things have progressed even slower here as I have been battling the Flu, and just found out today that I also have Pneumonia! Sorry about more blog delays and all the emails and voice mails that have fallen by the wayside. Happier days must be ahead! πŸ™

  • Alice G Patterson - Geez, I hope you have someone to look after you! You definitely need to slow down and just let yourself heal with that whopper of a combination. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

  • Kari Cooke - Sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well but at least it made me feel better that you haven’t responded to me, lol:) Hope you feel better soon.

  • Brian Kraft - Sorry you’re not feeling well. πŸ™ I’ve only discovered your work over the last several weeks and I look forward to your posts more than anyone’s (man, I sound like a loser! ha!), so I was going through some withdrawals. Well, I still am… but now I understand the delay. Get well!
