I just got back from shooting Kate + Ryan’s CUH-RAZY awesome wedding down in Antigua Guatemala! I barely even know where to begin. It was an intense 4 days of shooting which included a rehearsal dinner, the wedding which took place in some historic ruins, an after party, a 1 hour after wedding day shoot, not one but TWO mini engagement sessions of couples who were also guests at the wedding, a volcano hike, and some street photography in my down time. Such an amazing experience, and I met SO many great people along the way too! I shot this wedding with my buddy David Mielcarek, and between us we must have shot over 15,000 images. I can’t wait to fully blog my 4 day jaunt to Guatemala, but for now you’ll just have to enjoy a couple of teasers!
Ok, so I’m finally back to somewhat normal health and have finally manged to blog Maggie and Mike’s wedding which I couldn’t wait to post! Maggie is a wedding photographer herself which means she knows how these things go down! Which meant she basically told me, do what you want, take as much time as you want we’re with ya. Check and mark! And while it’s an honor to be asked to photograph another wedding photographer’s wedding, it also increases the pressure to perform as well. Maggie assured me that there wouldn’t be a million “second” photographers running around all day either, as she has a quite a few other photog friends. I must say, they were all pretty low key with their cameras, thanks guys! Maggie and Mike had a phenomenal wedding down in Cape May NJ at Congress Hall. The weather was perfect, Maggie was radiant and Mike totally played it cool even though I could tell towards the end of our second photo session that he was done. Thanks for hanging in there with us Mike, you were awesome! Everything went off without a hitch, with the exception Maggie and Mike who actually did go off with a hitch! Yuck yuck! Oh and Mike, thanks again for not actually kissing me at the after party! See, Mike had asked me what I would like to drink and I replied “a pint of Guinness” which Mike heard as “Should we kiss?”. After an awkward few seconds, we worked it out!
Just a quick post to let everyone know that things have progressed even slower here as I have been battling the Flu, and just found out today that I also have Pneumonia! Sorry about more blog delays and all the emails and voice mails that have fallen by the wayside. Happier days must be ahead!
