I just shot this several hours ago at Ann and Dean’s wedding, and thought I would put out a little teaser before I shoot another wedding tomorrow.

  • Ryan Young - so, if you’re already my hero, and a shot like this takes you to another level, what is that level? Superhero? Dude seriously, this transcends wedding photography to become fine art. The colors, the light on the couple, and especially the tree branch leading through the frame to point to the couple, as if presenting them. outstanding.

  • Todd Laffler - Hey Ryan, thanks ma man!!! hmmmm let’s see, I think the distinction between hero and superhero is that the superhero usually wears a cape! First thing tomorrow morning I will see my seamstress for a fitting! πŸ™‚ Thanks again Ryan!

  • ChristopherDavid - I totally have to ditto what Ryan said here bro – this is a step above for sure! I’m looking forward to viewing the collection later. You rock Todd!

  • Bernie - Todd, This shot is amazing. It’s become my favorite of your wedding pic’s.

Lee and Steve’s wedding was a photography marathon!!!Β  I went the distance too! My day started over with Lee where she was getting ready. I was greeted by Lee and a bunch of home made rice krispie treats! Lee, like any other good blog stalker, knows that I fuel up on wedding day with rice krispie treats and gatorade! Yay Lee! I also got to see my friend Leyda from Rockmelon (the videographers). I always love working alongside them! Anyway, Lee and Steve had a fabulous day in Tribeca NYC for their wedding. Everything took place at the awesome Tribeca Rooftop. We had lots of fun roaming the streets looking for photo spots. Steve even had a few ideas of his own! I had a blast photographing your wedding guys, and I put a lot of effort into this blog post so I really hope you enjoy it! Congratulations, and relax in Bora Bora!

I love when my brides have their shoes dyed!So this photo might need some explaining! See, Steve is a New York Magazine FANATIC. He already has a subscription, but he asked one of the groomsmen to pick up 2 copies from the newsstand for him. So, this is the current issue’s cover, and I was glad I could work both that and all four rings into one shot! Not twins, but they are indeed sisters!I loved Lee and Steve’s first looks! So, here is Steve’s brain child! In addition to New York magazine, Steve also has an affinity for construction vehicles. His favorite: the Crane! He said the only thing better than a crane is another crane putting together the other crane!Back to Tribeca Rooftop for the Ketubah signing. This guy is not her dad…but that’s not why she’s crying! The reception space looked incredible with all of these hanging tea lights all over the place! The grand entrance!I LOVE this first dance shot!At the end of the night I took a bunch of “reject” photos from the photo booth and ,with some help, had them thrown in front of Lee and Steve. This was the first attempt out of four, and my favorite.

  • knot - your pix are truly amazing tod!

  • Lee - These photos are beyond amazing. Thank you so much we had a great time with you shooting these, you’re the best. It looks like you did the blue treatment on my eyes, love it!

  • Naomi - The photos are beautiful and look so spontaneous and natural. I love them and want to see some more!

  • Naqib/Qippy - Hi Todd! Good stuff I love the card throwing shot the most! Oh me and Fara are missing NYC big time already. There’s just never enough time to see things in NYC…anyway keep in touch πŸ™‚

  • Sergio - Todd, you are really, really good! I enjoy your blog very much!! This wedding coverage totally rocks!!!

  • Rafa - Nice work. I loved the one behind the table.

  • Jerzy Modrak - I like you striving for simplicity and symetry in the backgrounds for your portraits. I love your sense of humour. Ill keep coming back here for inspiration and FUN!

  • Dale Dobson - Lee this is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Best Wishes.

Here is a teaser shot from Lee and Steve’s wedding, which I photographed on Saturday. They had a photo booth during the reception, so I decided to gather up all the “reject” photos laying around and have them tossed into the air in front of Lee and Steve. This was the first attempt out of four, and my favorite! Practically the last shot of the night too.Β  More to come later in the week, stay tuned!

  • Lee - I can’t believe how quickly you got this photo up, it looks pretty cool. Can’t wait to see the rest.

  • Beth - keep em comin! You are the best!

Wow, what an amazing wedding this past Saturday! I had the pleasure of photographing Magick and Chris’ wedding at Mallard Island Yacht Club down near Long Beach Island. This place is incredible! It was hands down the largest bridal suite I have ever seen! Magick was beaming all day and was so easy to photograph! Chris on the other hand, took a little longer to warm up, but he eventually got there! We had the most beautiful day on the water, although there was something about how the wind was blowing in a certain direction that brought tons of biting gnats! Magick and Chris grinned and bared it like troopers! Other than gnat, everything else was perfect! Sorry guys, I just couldn’t resist! Congratulations you two, and enjoy that honeymoon in St. Lucia!

I asked Magick to hop up on the bed, and this was the first thing she did!Four generations here folks!Just before Magick went down the aisle, something was funny! This is a what Magick and Chris got married under. The bridesmaids get in on the act! This was a friend of Magick’s who got up and sang a song for Magick and Chris as they danced. Thanks for putting up with the gnats guys!!!

  • Naqib/Qippy - Wow! I love this set of images! Esp the smoke pics, the ring details in the beginning, the smoke stuff too and few others …Nice!

  • quelyn - Hooray, I went to high school with Magick and it’s so great to see her wedding was so beautiful and happy times! πŸ™‚

  • daniel mcgarrity - Love the pictures, freaking outstanding job, the heads in the fireplace….very clever.
I only want to know one thing
How much time did they give you for all the shots, because this is some excellent work but clearly took some time to bring them together. I caught the little admonition about the gnats.

Excellent work, still trying to figure out how I came onto your blog?

  • Magick - Todd- All I can say is WOWWW! These are incredible photos! I love the fireplace and the lighting of the cigar the best. I mean they are all amazing I can’t wait to see all of them! Thanks again for an outstanding job. The M&Ms were awesome as well πŸ™‚ I feel bad for you now my Grandma is already talking about hiring you for family photos and other things…but I guess thats a good thing!! Thanks again and I’ll talk to you soon

  • Todd Laffler - Thanks Naqib!
Q, glad to see you are still following along! πŸ˜‰
Daniel, thank you. I don’t remember exactly how much time I had with Magick and Chris, but I would guess about 40 minutes or so with just them, and then I “borrowed” them during the reception for a few more shots at night.
Hey Magick! SOOOOO glad you enjoyed these! The fireplace shot is one my faves too. πŸ™‚ My wedding schedule keeps me pretty busy, but we’ll see what we can do about grandma’s request. πŸ˜‰ Thanks again Magick, I’ll be in touch soon.

  • Kay - OMG!!! TODD!!!!!!!!! I go away for one week and check your blog and I cannot BELIEVE HOW AWESOME THESE PHOTOS ARE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Todd Laffler - Thanks Kay! Welcome back! πŸ™‚

  • Quelyn - oh yeah, I’m a post-wedding blog stalker πŸ˜€

  • Kathleen - I’m a Todd blog stalker as well and I just had to say that the head shot of Magick is just STUNNING! The sparkle in her eyes is just breathtaking!
